Happy birthday, Carly Rae Jepsen!
The singer is officially 27 today, and in honor of her big day, Celebuzz is taking a look back at Jepsen’s evolution from pre-teen to red carpet glamorous.
When the fresh-faced Canadian first shot to internet fame with her hit song “Call Me Maybe” back in February, her style pretty much consisted of glittery leggings, tank tops, white tennis shoes and colorful bangles. Jepsen dressed more like a tween pop star — despite being way behind her high school years — and less like a chart-topping superstar.
However, after the release of her debut album Kiss, Jepsen’s style, like her music, started to mature. Sure, she still loves her sparkles — but what girl doesn’t?
Most recently at the 2012 American Music Awards, Jepsen ditched the leggings and colorful accessories for a form-fitting, sequin-embellished halter dress by Gomez Gracia. And there wasn’t a chunky bangle in sight!
