She’s done it again!
For the 12th time in her career, Rihanna has topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart — this time, for her hit song, “Diamonds.”
The mid-tempo track, which is featured on her new CD Unapologetic, now ties Rihanna with Madonna and The Supremes for the fourth-most number-one singles in Billboard history. (The Beatles lead with 20, followed by Mariah Carey, with 18.)
The feat is especially impressive, given that Rihanna — who on Tuesday wrapped her controversial 777 Tour in New York City — achieved it in just six years. That places her ahead of Carey as the the female artist to reach 12 number-one hits in the fastest amount of time.
How does “Diamonds” compare to Rihanna’s other number-one hits? Is it as good as, say, “Umbrella” or “We Found Love”? Or are you already over it?
