The season finale of A&E’s Duck Dynasty destroyed all other shows in the ratings and became the network’s top telecast ever on Wednesday night with 6.5 million viewers. The show, about a Christian family of Lousiana duck call makers, easily topped the other broadcasts that evening including Nashville and The X Factor. [EW]
Meanwhile on Thursday night, ABC’s Scandal rose 14 percent for its largest total audience ever with 7.4 million viewers. CBS’s Two and a Half Men and Person of Interest also saw large audiences with 14.2 million and 15 million viewers respectively. After a stellar showing for Liz Lemon’s (Tina Fey) wedding, NBC’s 30 Rock matched a series low with only 3.33 million viewers. [TVLine]
Mindy (Mindy Kaling) has a new BFF on FOX’s The Mindy Project. The freshman comedy has cast Mary Grill, a vet of the Upright Citizens Brigade in the recurring role. Grill will play Maggie, an old college friend of Mindy’s who reconnects with her friend after she moves into her apartment building. The Mindy Project will also see the departure of Amanda Setton and Stephen Tobolowsky. Anna Camp, who plays Mindy’s current BFF on the show has been downgraded from a regular to recurring role.
