Despite being spotted on a double date at West Hollywood hot-spot Nobu, Bachelorette star Emily Maynard and Las Vegas-based rocker Alexander DeLeon are not actually an item.
So Says DeLeon’s mother, Lisa Turley.
“They are not dating,” Turley told Celebuzz. ”They are friends. They are very good friends.”
InTouch first got word of the rumored couple’s double date, during which Maynard and DeLeon “were flirting and seemed like they liked each other,” according to an eyewitness.
DeLeon subsequently fueled the rumor mill when he posted a picture from the dinner on his Twitter, writing on Nov. 29, “Such a great time at dinner with @emilymaynard, @keltiecolleen, and @cdk425 last night. Amazing and beautiful people.”
The photo came about a week after DeLeon, 23, and Maynard, 26, tweeted at each other about a music video from DeLeon’s band, The Cab.
“Dying over this video!” Maynard tweeted on Nov. 15. “I think I can sing this song backwards in my sleep I love it so much @alexanderdeleon @TheCab”
And DeLeon promptly replied: “Listen to one of the most beautiful and sweet girls in the world, @EmilyMaynard, and go watch our new video #ENDLESSLY.”
If the rumored relationship turns to be, well, a rumor, Maynard may still have her chance at a fairytale ending.
As Celebuzz previously reported, producers from The Bachelor franchise are considering bringing her back for another shot at love as The Bachelorette.
“There’s been talk about bringing Emily back for another season,” said a source close to production, who added that nothing had been finalized.
