A reported 27 people, including 18 children, were shot at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT Friday morning. Although the number of people killed or wounded has yet to be confirmed, television and online news outlets are reporting that authorities found the alleged perpetrator, an adult male, dead at the scene following the shooting spree. A second person is being questioned in relation to the shootings as well.
Meanwhile, Hollywood celebrities wasted no time taking to social media to express their grief and outrage at the incident. Stars like Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian and Blake Shelton were understandably sad and angry as they shared their thoughts and prayers for the families of the victims.
In fact, many wondered how this possibly could have happened again — especially so soon after the shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, CO, that left 12 dead and 56 injured in July.
“Why do bad things happen to such good people… Especially young ones.” tweeted Cyrus.
“What has this world come to?” Added Kim Kardashian.
