You may know Bill Horn and Scout Masterson (a.k.a. “The Guncles”) from Oxygen’s Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood. As the first gay reality modern TV family, the show followed the couple’s journey through the at-times challenging adoption process of their daughter Simone, and gave the world an inside look at same-sex parenting.
After receiving tons of emails and questions from others also going through the adoption process, Masterson and Horn established the adoption mentoring program, Hold My Hand.
For more than a year now, The Guncles have helped nearly 100 same-sex couples, single mothers and those looking to expand their families through the policies and pitfalls of the adoption process.
“We’re starting the process of adopting again, so we’re right there with them,” Masterson said.
For our 30 Days of Giving & Receiving, The Guncles invited Celebuzz into their home to make some festive Rice Krispie treats with their daughter, Simone (who also happens to be Tori Spelling‘s niece and goddaughter to ).
