Madonna Scolds Fan for Smoking in Chile: ‘You Don’t Care About Me, I Don’t Care About You’ (VIDEO)

It seems Madonna isn’t too fond of cigarette smoke.

During a soundcheck for her MDMA world tour in Santiago, Chile, the Queen of Pop scolded fans after she caught a few concertgoers smoking.

“There’s people smoking right now,” she told the crowd, before chastising the offenders. “No smoking!… If you’re going to smoke cigarettes, I’m not doing a show.”

The singer’s ultimatum didn’t go over well with the concertgoers, who had waited in the rain during the soundcheck — but Madge didn’t seem to care. “You don’t care about me, I don’t care about you,” she said.

The upset 54-year-old performer added: “Are we going to play that game? I’m not kidding! I can’t sing if you smoke. Entiendes? If you love me, then don’t smoke.”

But the damage was already done. Madonna’s show was delayed by more than two hours Wednesday night. Fans were reportedly so disappointed with the show, entire sections started chanting Lady Gaga’s name.

This is just the latest in Madonna’s long string of controversial moments from her MDNA tour. She raised eyebrows after pretending to shoot down a masked gunman during an on-stage stunt in Denver, Colo., just miles from where the mass Dark Knight theater shootings occurred this summer. And in Paris, Madge drew disfavor for displaying a swastika on a politician’s forehead.

But all of Madge’s shocking moments seem to be doing the trick. Her MDNA tour is the high-grossing tourof 2012, earning an estimated $228.4 million in ticking sales.
