With the holidays fast approaching, agents, managers, producers and performers alike are scraping together their final percentages, leaping aboard private planes and speeding away into 2013 in their souped-up Lambos. Which is all to say, they’re fleeing Hollywood like the place was on fire and leaving you without a fair bit of MovieBuzz.

That said, a few final deals closed this week with Summit Entertainment picking up the action pitch Revoc. The producing team behind the upcoming zombie comedy Warm Bodies will handle the post-alien invasion sci-fi tale described as being in the vein of District 9 or Moon. The pitch was offered up by Icelandic filmmaker Olaf de Fleur whose crime film City State is currently scheduled for a remake by 3:10 to Yuma and Wolverine director James Mangold. Next up, the first novel in Jennifer Nielsen’s Ascendance trilogy, The False Prince, has been picked up by Paramount. Game of Thrones’ story editor Bryan Cogman will adapt the story for the big-screen. The story of a boy chosen to pose as murdered royalty’s long-lost son, The False Prince weaves a tale of young-adult, high-fantasy espionage, perfect for a writer already spinning that same tale on HBO. Lastly, word comes down from our friends at Collider that Lost co-creater Damon Lindelof will not be scriping the sequel to Prometheus. Whether this is because the beautifully filmed and terribly plotted film received the brunt of its criticism for Lindelof’s script, or – as Lindelof claims – it’s simply not in his schedule is up for some debate. But Lindelof tells Collider:
“I’m usually very single-minded creatively. I can only be working on one thing at a time. So I said to [director Ridley Scott], ‘I really don’t think I could start working on this movie until I do this other stuff. And I don’t know when the other stuff is going to be done.’ And he was like, ‘Well, okay, it’s not like I asked you anyways.’” [Collider]
