On the heels of her headline-hitting divorce from actor Kelsey Grammer, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer is no stranger to surviving bitter splits.
That’s why the reality star has been a beacon of support to her Bravo castmate Adrienne Maloof, who recently reached a settlement in her acrimonious divorce from her husband of 10 years, plastic surgeon Paul Nassif.
“For me, it was extremely difficult being on a reality show as my marriage [was] basically ending,” Grammer told Celebuzz. “[Now] she’s experiencing that. I empathize with her. I feel really, really bad for her. I hope both of them can come to some mutual agreement.”
Especially when it comes to the couple’s three sons — 9-year-old Gavin and 6-year-old twins, Christian and Colin. “They both love their kids very, very much,” Grammer explained. “You can see that. [Adrienne] has her priorities set. She knows her kids first, [then] her business. And she’s got a lot of good friends and family that are around her.”
Though she is confident Maloof “will come out just fine,” Grammer had found it hard to say goodbye to the Maloof-Nassif marriage. “I kind of miss them as a couple because I’ve known them for a while and they were always The Bickersons,” she said. “That was part of their banter that was always sort of endearing. It’s sad to see that happen. It’s always sad to see your friends hurt or sad. So, again, I empathize with her, but she’s strong.”
As for Grammer, there was one person in particular that guided her through her public breakup: her mom. “I had such a tough time….My family was there for me 100 percent,” Grammer said. “My mom…[is] sick, she’s got cancer. But she’s fighting the good fight. She’s doing really, really well — God bless her.”
But her mother’s condition never stopped her from being at Grammer’s side during her hardest times. “When she was sick, she was still flying all the way out to California to help me when I should have been flying here to help her,” said the former Housewife, who is now a recurring friend on the hit reality show. “She’s like, ‘I’m strong and I’m the mom.’ She’s just amazing. It’s a testament to her strength, and she’s such an inspiration to me.”
