As if posting an adorable photo of “Big Sis” Maxwell Drew wasn’t enough, Jessica Simpson has gone ahead and announced her pregnancy on television.
The mom-to-be confirmed her pregnancy in a new Weight Watchers ad released on Wednesday. “Being healthy has become a part of who I am, which is great timing, because I’m having another baby!” said Simpson, 32, in the brand-new commercial.
Simpson, who gained over 60 pounds during her first pregnancy, inked a deal with Weight Watchers for an estimated $3 million in May, the same month she gave birth to her daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson.
Despite several tabloid reports that Simpson’s surprise pregnancy imperiled her business relationship with Weight Watchers, it seems the weight loss is thrilled for their latest celebrity spokeswoman.
“It’s wonderful news and we couldn’t be happier for Jessica, Eric and big sister-to-be Maxwell,” said Cheryl Callan, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Weight Watchers, in a statement. “We’ve seen first-hand that Jessica has a refreshed outlook on food, activity and the importance of developing healthy habits, which we hope will guide her through this next pregnancy and beyond. She has come a long way and we know her story and success will continue to inspire others.”
On Christmas day, the Fashion Star mentor tweeted a photo of her almost-eight-month-old daughter sitting on the beach with “Big Sis” written in the sand.
“Merry Christmas from my family to yours!” Simpson wrote as the caption. In the adorable snapshot, Maxwell is dressed in a red-and-white striped onesie, a red bow in her hair and has a big smile on her face.
