HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The Kardashian siblings are off the hook in the case of the sky-high credit card.
According to court documents obtained by People, the lawsuit filed against the Kardashians by Sonja Norwood, the mother of singers Brandy and Ray J, was dismissed on June 1 with prejudice, meaning the case cannot be appealed or re-filed.
In the suit, which was filed against the Kardashian family in February 2008, Norwood claimed the reality-TV stars rang up more than $120,000 in credit card charges without her permission. The lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, named Kardashian siblings Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr. as defendants.
The lawsuit alleged that Kim “was authorized to make one (and only one) purchase” on Norwood’s American Express credit card in 2004, while she was working as a stylist for Brandy.
Instead, the lawsuit claimed Kim made unauthorized purchases before passing Norwood’s card number on to her siblings, who then went about making even more unauthorized purchases
Norwood stated that a total of $120,653.65, “calculated thus far,” was owed by the Karadashian’s. She even pointed out that the family used the credit card to make purchases in their own stores, Dash and Smooch.
Kim previously denied the allegations, telling People that she and her family had Norwood’s permission to make the purchases.
“We have her signature on all items,” she said.
The lawsuit wasn’t the first time that the two showbiz families exchanged unpleasantries. In early 2007, Kim sought legal action to prevent the distribution of a sex tape that surfaced of her with with then-boyfriend Ray J.
