HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Actor Johnny Palermo, who appeared in dozens of TV shows, including “Everybody Hates Chris,” died early Monday in a car accident. He was 27.
The young star was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his girlfriend, Alessandra Giangrande, who was also killed in the tragic North Hollywood, Calif. crash, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Giangrande’s brother was also traveling in the car and suffered serious injuries, the trade publication said.
Palermo appeared in the recurring role of Frank on the recently canceled CW series. He also starred as Evan Ribisi on the Nickelodeon series “Just for Kicks.”
During the span of his career, Palermo appeared on such shows as “Cold Case,” “Without a Trace,” “General Hospital,” “CSI: Miami,” “Rules of Engagement,” “How I Met Your Mother” and “CSI: NY.”
The New York native also worked in films and can be seen later this fall in the indie flick “Pizza With Bullets.”
