HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — A judge has granted Terri Seymour’s request for a restraining order against a woman who choked her following last month’s “American Idol” finale.
Janice Thibodeaux pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery last week for the May incident, in which she claimed the choking was retaliation. Thibodeaux says she attacked the 34-year-old British actress after seeing “Idol” creator and Seymour’s ex, Simon Cowell, playfully choke fellow judge Paula Abdul on a previous broadcast.
Thibodeaux, who received a three-year probation sentence, was ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Seymour for the next three years.
