Take note, #teens.
Demi Lovato is urging fans to stop wrecking havoc on the English language by making words like “twerk” happen. (Which unfortunately has happened, according to Oxford Dictionary.)
The “Heart Attack” songstress took her plea to introduce better vocabulary to Twitter Tuesday after twerking — a “dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance” — blew up on the Internet, writing:
Can the world stop talking about twerking please?

I just don’t know what happened to the word “dancing”…. Can I getta amen?!! — demetria lovato (@ddlovato) September 3, 2013
Lovato also emphasized that she is in no way criticizing Miley Cyrus and her twerk-tastic VMAs performance, but rather just pointing out what a low mankind has hit in accepting “swag” into our everyday conversations.
Btw – no shade thrown.. Don’t even try to start that crap. Haha… the term twerking just needs to disappear like the word swag does too..

Justin Bieber and his “swagger coach” might need some time to think about this.
