HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Milk. Check. Bread. Check. “Hannah Montana” cherries. Um, what?
That’s right, you heard it right. “Hannah Montana” cherries are coming to a grocery store near you soon.
Disney, the media conglomerate behind the hit franchise, is plastering the brand on the sometimes bitter fruit.
The Disney Garden brand of “Hannah Montana” cherries features the franchise star, Miley Cyrus, alongside “Hannah Montana: The Movie” branding.
The move is all tied to Disney’s decision in recent years to stop aligning itself with unhealthy foods, most notably by ending its McDonald’s Happy Meal contract in 2006.
Whether the idea flys remains to be seen. Of course, the timing is rather remarkable considering Cyrus caused a wave last Sunday when she performed a pole dance while atop an ice cream cart during the Teen Choice Awards.
Anyone for “Hannah Montana” ice cream?
