HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Ryan Jenkins, who appeared on the VH1 reality shows “Megan Wants a Millionaire” and “I Love Money,” has been named as a “person of interest” in the death of his ex-wife, Jasmine Fiore.
Officials tell the Associated Press that Jenkins, 32, may have fled to his native Canada. He called the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Saturday night to report the former model as missing.
On that very same day, Fiore’s nude body was found stuffed in a suitcase in a Buena Park, Calif. trash bin. Officials have speculated that she may have been strangled to death.
“At this point, he’s merely a person of interest, simply because of the suspiciousness of his disappearance. We can’t find him,” a police official told AP. “We find it suspicious that with all the media coverage that he has not made himself available to us.”
Authorities believe Jenkins entered Canada through a remote area in Washington state after driving and boating more than 1,000 miles up the coast from California.
The 28-year-old Fiore was last seen alive alongside Jenkins at a poker tournament in San Diego.
Lisa Lepore says her daughter married Jenkins in March in Las Vegas, but had the marriage annulled two months later.
