HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Chris Brown and Rihanna had a history of violence together that proceeded the “Kiss Kiss” singer’s arrest in February for assault.
Court documents revealed Tuesday that the former couple had two previous incidents in which they became combative against each other. The first took place three months before Brown’s arrest while the pair was in Europe. A fight ensued in which Rihanna slapped Brown and he responded by shoving her into a wall, read the report.
A second heated exchange took place just three weeks before Brown was detained on the eve of the Grammy Awards. During that incident, the former couple was traveling in Barbados when a fight broke out as they were driving a rented Range Rover. Brown got out of the vehicle and proceeded to break both the front driver and passenger side windows. No was one injured in the incident.
Brown was arrested on Feb. 8 after getting into a third altercation with Rihanna while driving in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood. On Tuesday, he was formally sentenced to five years of probation and six months of community labor after pleading guilty in June to one count of felony assault.
