McDONOUGH, Ga. — Rap star Soulja Boy was arrested Wednesday after fleeing the scene of an alleged video shoot at an abandoned house in Georgia.
According to published reports, the 19-year-old singer was among a group of 40 people who had gathered in the backyard of the home in the McDonough area of Atlanta. When police arrived following a complaint, the group fled the scene — only problem is, Soulja Boy left behind his vehicle.
Upon his return to pick up his white Range Rover, the rapper was arrested and charged with one count of obstruction, a misdemeanor, for running from the police. He told authorities that the group had gathered to film a video.
Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Ramone Way, was released from custody early Thursday on $550 bond.
