HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan is firing back after her father went on Maury Povich last week and suggested her life was in jeopardy due to an addiction to prescription drugs.
“I’m so hurt that someone who calls himself my father, needs to use the press to communicate with me,” the 23-year-old actress tells Us Weekly.
The showbiz father told Povich that his daughter was headed for destruction when he last saw her.
“There’s nothing left in her,” he said. “I was out in L.A. with her about 3 weeks ago when she got robbed. She called me up at 3:30 in the morning. She said, ‘Daddy, come out here.’ I flew out and got her out of the house. She was in an apartment, in a hotel actually, when I just, I couldn’t even look at her. I had to go outside and cry and when I hugged her, it’s just a hollow, hollow person.”
On Saturday, Michael told the photo agency X17, “I’m going to see the judge this week…If I can’t get a conservatorship, then I’m going to take her to an undisclosed location and get her straight. But I know I’m gonna get charged [with] kidnapping.”
Lohan says her father has been sending “threatening and erratic messages over the last several months,” but she has refused to speak with him.
“It’s so sad that he needs to stay in the media spotlight by using my name and making up excessive lies,” she tells the mag. “He should instead try to be a real father.”
