HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — This heavyweight fight appears to be going the distance.
In yet another round of family feud, Michael Lohan has released a new audio tape in an effort to push his daughter Lindsay into rehab for an alleged prescription-drug addiction.
The latest recording, posted on Radar Online, is a phone call that allegedly took place in September 2008 between Michael and his ex-wife Dina, who is frustrated by her attempts to get Lindsay into rehab.
“I told her not to go to L.A. at 18,” Dina is heard saying. “She did. I couldn’t leave these other three [children] to go get her and, like, it was just a mess.”
“You don’t even know what I went through trying to get her into, like, rehab and stuff,” the star’s mother continued. “She’d like, punch me in the face, kick me out of the car … like you don’t know the [expletive] I went through.”
Earlier this week, Michael released another recording in which Lindsay could be heard crying uncontrollably. That led to her immediately slamming her father on Twitter, including one accusation that he once threatened to kill Dina if she left him.
“That’s a lie. I guess Lindsay is on more drugs than I thought to say something like that,” he told the New York Post earlier today. “Now I’m going to release more recordings that prove everything she is saying is nothing more than a bunch of lies.”
“No wonder why God is taking her entire career away from her,” Michael continued. “Because she’s forsaken everything He’s given her and she’s done nothing but misuse all the gifts she’s given.”
Lindsay is said to be considering legal action against her father.
