HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Robin Thicke and Paula Patton will soon have a baby boy to keep them company.
The 32-year-old Thicke confirmed that he has a son on the way during an interview with Essence.
“It’s a boy,” he told the mag, adding that the couple has already picked out the name Julian for their son.
The “Sex Therapy” crooner also discussed his biggest fears of becoming a father for the first time.
“I’m afraid of not being patient enough, but most of the time that’s when I’m scared or worried about the future,” he explained. “I want to work on that. But my biggest fear is being able to be there, because I don’t know if kids ever think their parents were there enough.”
While he has a few fears, Thicke said he can’t wait to teach his boy some moves on the basketball court. He’s also already thinking about the life lessons he’ll pass along to his son.
“Teaching him how to respect a woman. Teaching him music. Getting to play him Biggie Smalls at some age, we’ll experience that together,” he said. “That’s the beauty of having a child.”
The high school sweethearts, who met at a teen club when Thicke was just 14, announced the pregnancy in October. They have been married since 2005.
Patton, 34, is due in May.
