HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Gary Coleman has been hospitalized after falling ill early Wednesday in Los Angeles, the Associated Press reports.
The 41-year-old actor was in town doing promotional work at a hotel when he fell ill, prompting an emergency call around 8 a.m. Coleman was transported to a local hospital via ambulance for tests, but his agent, Robert Malcolm, said the former Diff’rent Strokes was hospitalized as a precautionary measure.
“Gary’s fine. He wasn’t feeling well, so he was taken to a hospital. They’re going to run some tests,” Malcolm told People magazine.
Coleman, who has endured two kidney transplants, starred as Arnold Jackson on the hit 1980s sitcom.
