HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — When it comes to trustworthy celebrities, actor James Earl Jones is someone you can rely on.
The 79-year-old old star, who voiced Darth Vader in the Star Wars movies, claimed the No. 1 spot in a Forbes poll ranking the most trusted celebrities. Actor Tom Hanks finished second while Michael J. Fox, who has been an activist for Parkinson’s disease since being diagnosed with the condition more than 10 years ago, came in third.
“A premium was put on likability, reliability and credibility,” said Forbes staff writer Lacey Rose about the qualities Americans associated with trustworthiness. “The stars on our list tend to be endearing characters on screen and off. With private lives that are kept precisely that, they have earned, and maintained, the respect of their fans.”
Television host Mike Rowe came in fourth on the list, followed by actor Morgan Freeman.
