HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Jamie Lynn Spears appears to be seeking a fresh start.
The Zoey 101 star has split with her longtime boyfriend Casey Aldridge and is now dating an older man, Star magazine reports.
A source tells the magazine that Spears, 18, and Aldridge, 20, who have a 19-month-old daughter named Maddie, never had much of a future together.
“Even when she was pregnant, she didn’t really see a future with him,” the insider says of Spears, who made headlines in 2007 when she announced that she was pregnant at the age of 16. “She only gave the impression of staying with him so long because it looked better in the eyes of the public.”
The new man in Spears’ life is James Watson, a businessman that she met about a year ago. The magazine claims they started dating in December.
“He installs communications equipment and high-definition TVs for large corporations,” a source says of Watson, who owns the company Advanced Multimedia Partners. “James enjoys making money — and enjoys spending it too.”
