Brant Daugherty is having a kinda/sorta busy fall. Not only is he back on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, but he’s also a contestant on this season of Dancing With The Stars.
We had few questions for the Ohio-born Daugherty about reuniting with Mona (Janel Parrish) and that pesky little dating rumor that he can’t seem to shake.
CB: What’s been your favorite thing about Dancing With The Stars so far?
BD: Definitely the challenge. I like to push myself and see what I’m capable of, which are a few reasons I signed on for the show. It’s been a huge growing experience for me, and it’s been tough. It’s physically taxing, and emotionally as well, to show up every day.
CB: What keeps you going?
BD: I’ve never not given my full effort into anything I’ve done. DWTS is such a unique experience. The highs are so high and the lows are so low, but when you get out there and you do a good job, when the audience cheers and the judges give you good scores, there’s no feeling like that. That’s what we live for.
CB: Rumor has it that you are dating your very attractive dancing parter, Peta Murgatroyd
BD: [Laughs] For the one millionth time, no we are not dating. We are locked in a studio with a camera crew for five hours every single day. It’s not a place where something like that can really grow. We are very close though, we’re very comfortable around each other. I don’t think we’d be able to do our jobs well if we weren’t.
We have great chemistry. She’s really created an environment during rehearsals where I can be myself and she can be herself. I have a lot of admiration and respect and love for her.
CB: How does it feel to be back on Pretty Little Liars?
BD: That show put me on the map, and we’ve become a family. It was kind of weird to be gone from my family for a year. I’ve been showing them my dance moves, and my YouTube videos, and they were all very very complimentary about my dancing. It was just really great, really comfortable. I love being on that set.
CB: The fans want to know about a Noel + Mona scene. What can you tell us?
BD: If I told you that, I’d give away the story! I will say this: When I appear, it’s going to be a good moment.
CB: What is one word to describe Janel?
BD: Just one word? Enthusiastic.
CB: And one word to describe your experience on Dancing With The Stars?
BD: Tough. It is a challenge to wake up and give your all to something every single day.
