HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Celebrity tributes are pouring in on Twitter for actor Andrew Koenig, who was found dead Thursday in Vancouver’s Stanley Park.
The former Growing Pains star, who had been missing since Feb. 14, died from an apparent suicide. He was 41.
“My deepest sympathies to Andrew Koenig’s family. I will grieve with them,” wrote actor William Shatner, who co-starred with Koenig’s father on Star Trek.
News of Koenig’s death also spread throughout the sci-fi franchise’s family.
“Offering prayers for Walter & Judy Koenig as well as their beloved son, Andrew…” said Star Trek: Next Generation star LeVar Burton.
“Oh my god. I just heard that Andrew Koenig’s body has been found in Vancouver. He was only 41. My heart goes out to his family,” added fellow Next Generation star Wil Wheaton.
Actress Alyssa Milano also paid her respects on Twitter while urging others to help people with depression.
“If you know someone suffering from depression, please do everything in your power to get them help. R.I.P. Andrew,” tweeted the fellow ’80s sitcom star.
“Rest With Angels Andrew Koenig… worked with him on 21 Jump Street in Vancouver…so sadly and ironically where he was found xxxx,” wrote actress Holly Robinson Peete.
