NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Kenny Chesney continued his run with the top prize Wednesday night, taking home entertainer of the year for the fourth time in five years at the CMA Awards in Nashville.

“This is my fourth time standing up here and I’m really humbled by it,” said Chesney, who tied George Strait for most career wins of the top CMA prize.

The evening was also a special one for the longtime star Strait, who won four times to become the CMA’s all-time champ with 22 victories. Among Strait’s wins were album of the year (“Troubadour”) and song of the year (“I Saw God Today”) as he surpassed Ronnie Dunn’s 20 lifetime awards.

Other notable winners included the Rascal Flatts, who won their sixth straight vocal group of the year award, and Lady Antebellum, who took home best new artist honors.

The evening featured a number of notable live performances, included several performers from different genres taking the stage at Nashville’s big night. Among those cross-over acts were The Eagles and Kid Rock, who was joined onstage by rapper Lil Wayne as he performed “All Summer Long.”
