WASHINGTON, D.C. — It was a star-studded affair on Saturday night at the 2010 White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton Hotel.
Scarlett Johansson attended the annual event with her twin brother, Hunter. Other celebrities in attendance included Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren, Joe Jonas and girlfriend Demi Lovato, Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Steven Spielberg, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Terrence Howard.
The White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) represents the White House press corps in its dealings with the administration on coverage-related issues. Entertainer Jay Leno was the featured speaker at this year’s annual fundraising dinner, where winners of the Edgar A. Poe, the Merriman Smith and the Aldo Beckman awards, three of journalism’s most prestigious prizes, were also announced. In addition, 17 Washington, D.C. students received $132,000 in college scholarships from the White House Correspondents’ Association to pursue careers in journalism.
