When celebs buy and sell real estate, they do it BIG. And, of course, we can’t help but want to take a peek inside what it really looks like to live in the lap of luxury. And it’s these ridiculously awesome decadent digs that prove that the Hollywood elite are not quite like the rest of us.

So, putting aside our obvious home envy, as we look forward to 2014, these are CB!’s Top 10 Panty-Dropping Palaces that made our jaws hit the floor in 2013.

Happy New Year!

1. Taylor Swift shelled out $17.75 million on a historic, and massive we might add, 12,000 square foot 7-bedroom mansion in picturesque Westerly, Rhode Island in April. And Swifty knows a good investment when she sees it. It only took her two weeks to sign on the dotted line and get the keys to her new oceanfront digs.

2. Celine Dion sure has been busy spending that $100 million Las Vegas contract wisely. And just as her voice has wowed us for years, her real estate prowess is just as impressive ($112 million bucks worth!). The powerhouse performer listed some lavish properties this year — her $72 million water park estate in Jupiter, Florida; $10 million starter mansion also in Jupiter, and a $30 million stone castle in Montreal.

3. Rihanna’s view from the top just got better. After moving out of her stalker-plagued L.A. pad, the “Run This Town” singer traded coasts and took a bite out of the Big Apple real estate by plunking down $39K a month on a $14.6 million penthouse.

4. Swoon-worthy Robert Pattinson decided to part ways with his handsome Los Feliz estate that’s just as swoon-inducing. And he sure knows how to pick ‘em and fix ‘em up. The circa 1922 $6.75 million Spanish manse was designed by Hollywood legend Stiles O. Clements (also known for the El Capitan Theatre) and was one of the first homes built in the trendy L.A. enclave. And it’s features are like none other we’ve seen… with secret hiding places, lagoon pool, amphitheater, and gloriously-landscaped grounds.

5. Simon Cowell‘s prepping for daddy duty and that means downsizing. Well, for the music mogul that means house-hunting for mansions in Miami with his baby mama and lady love Lauren Silverman, and if he gets the $16.9 million he wants for his huge Beverly Hills hillside manse, that down payment should be no problem.

6. After buying Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s Hidden Hills, Calif. spread for $13 million, Jessica Simpson sold her magical Beverly Hills home for $6 million in October. It only took five months to find a new owner for the enchanting Shabby-chic inspired mansion, and we can see why.

7. Drew Barrymore sold her Montecito, Calif. estate after only five months on the open market and has the $6.35 million in her bank account to prove it. The sprawling spread’s stunning green grounds are out of a painting and inside couple’s love of chicken figurines, butter yellow kitchen decor and baby Olive’s Shabby Chic play room give it charm.

8. Zac Efron‘s road to recovery has led him to a new address. That’s right, the big screen heartthrob stint in rehab gave him a new lease on life, so that meant a new place to call home. Efron reportedly moved out of his $2 million Hollywood Hills party pad to buy a $4 million manse in Los Feliz, Calif. And it’s definitely an upgrade.

9. Speaking of party-perfect digs, Leonardo DiCaprio — the king of the world and Hollywood’s perpetual bachelors — he said goodbye to his swanky crash pad a few weeks ago after 407 days on the market. Only this is no ordinary crash pad — it’s in Malibu, has a jacuzzi, 2 private decks, and 3 separate homes all for a cool $19 million.

10. If you’re country’s most famous couple then you can buy property like this. The king and queen of Nashville, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, are singing a goodbye love song to their Tennessee estate to the tune of $20 million. The Mr. and Mrs. are unloading their 753-acre farm, complete with a whopping 4 separate homes.
