Film Society’s 37th Annual Chaplin Award Gala Honors Michael Douglas

new, 2010NEW YORK —Emmy, Golden Globe and two-time Academy Award winner Michael Douglas was honored Monday night at the Film Society’s 37th annual Chaplin Award gala at Alice Tully Hall.

Danny DeVito, who co-starred with Douglas in the 1985 film The Jewel of the Nile, performed an impromptu song and dance rendition of "Give My Regards to Broadway" in honoring his longtime pal. The evening also featured Douglas’s close friend, Jimmy Buffett, serenading the guest of honor with "Margaritaville."

Other tributes came from Douglas’s wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and father, screen legend Kirk Douglas.

Among the celebrities on hand for the tribute gala were Brooke Shields, Erika Christiansen and Tobey Maguire.
