HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Trey Songz is passing out the tissues to go along with his new "Yo Side of the Bed" music video.
The emotional video, which premiered Wednesday on Essence.com, co-stars Keri Hilson as Trey’s wife. It opens with a question about how long the two have been together. "Well, if you count the time it took to get her on a date with me," Trey replies, "three years and seven or eight months."
The clip then flashes back to when the couple first met, with Hilson jogging past Trey as he sits on a park bench. Marriage and a baby follow, only to be interrupted by Hilson’s call to combat – a deployment that will shatter their family.
"I don’t want to sleep if you ain’t here," Trey sings in the video, which was directed by Yolande Geralds.
"Yo Side of the Bed" is off Trey Songz’s 2009 studio album Ready.
