NEW YORK — Rapper Kid Cudi has been charged with criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance after being arrested Friday in New York City.
According to TMZ, the 26-year-old music artist ripped the door off a woman’s apartment and smashed her cell phone into pieces.
Police also allegedly found a glass bottle containing a controlled substance after they arrived on the scene.
Despite the arrest, Kid Cudi still managed to perform at the Bonnaroo music festival on Saturday, telling the crowd he "really wanted to be here tonight."
This isn’t the first time Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, has run into trouble with the law. In December, the Kanye West protégé allegedly punched a fan during a concert in Vancouver.
