HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Cristiano Ronaldo has become a father for the first time.
The Portuguese soccer star announced the arrival of his son in a message posted Saturday on his Facebook and Twitter pages.
"It is with great joy and emotion that I inform I have recently become father to a baby boy," the Team Portugal player and Emporio Armani underwear model said.
Ronaldo, 25, did not reveal the identity of the baby’s mother, only saying that he would raise the child alone.
"As agreed with the baby’s mother, who prefers to have her identity kept confidential, my son will be under my exclusive guardianship," he wrote. "No further information will be provided on this subject and I request everyone to fully respect my right to privacy (and that of the child) at least on issues as personal as these are."
Ronaldo has been linked to the likes of Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton in the past.
