Sylvester Stallone’s ‘The Expendables’ Tops Weekend Box Office

The Expendables, Sylvester Stallone, movie, pictures, picture, photos, photo, pics, pic, images, image, hot, sexy, latest, new, 2010HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Sylvester Stallone and his pumped-up pals in The Expendables seized the weekend box office title with a $35 million debut, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

The action film easily claimed the top spot over Eat Pray Love, the Julie Roberts film that premiered in second with $23.7 million.

Last week’s No. 1, the Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg buddy-cop comedy The Other Guys, slipped to third place at $18 million. It was followed by Leonardo DiCaprio’s dream thriller Inception, which finished fourth at $11.4 million.

Michael Cera’s Scott Pilgrim vs. the World opened in fifth place at $10.5 million to round out the weekend top five.

1. The Expendables, $35 million.
