HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — When it comes to turning heads, Christina Hendricks has the measurements to interest everyone.
"Women hit on me. My husband thinks it’s so odd that so many women hit on me," the 35-year-old Mad Men star tells Harper’s Bazaar for its November issue.
And it’s not just women. Gay men seem to be infatuated with her, too. "They say to me, ‘Well, I’m not straight, but if I was …’ " Hendricks says. "I think it’s so flattering."
The voluptuous actress says she never expected her curvy figure to become such a hot topic.
"When the attention started to be about my figure, I was surprised, because it wasn’t something I was focused on," Hendricks explains. "And then it became very positive, and people were saying very nice things."
One such time moment came when a fan approached while she was out to dinner with husband Geoffrey Arend during Mad Men‘s first season and said, " ‘Excuse me, I just want to tell you that I watch your show, and you make me feel better about myself. I am a curvy woman, and you’ve made me feel sexy and beautiful.’ I got teary eyed."
Hendricks adds, "I remember Geoffrey saying, ‘That’s what you’re doing for people. That’s amazing.’ And I said, ‘I’m just trying to be a good actress and trying to tell a story, but if this is the sidebar, all this positivity, then that is awesome.’ "
