Well we now know how Dr. Dre spent some of his money from the Beats sale to Apple!
Apple is acquiring Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion, and while the deal has yet to be formally confirmed, Dre has been busy looking for a new mansion fit for a mogul.
After four years of construction, the 14,000-squarefoot Brentwood home was on the market for $50 million with the Westside Estate Agency.
The four-acre estate centers on a country French chateau reached by a winding driveway. The home cost $20 million to build and includes eight bedrooms, a six-car garage, a lagoonshaped swimming pool with spa, a weight room and a wine cellar.
The LA Times is reporting that Dr. Dre plunked down $40 million for the estate.
With Apple acquiring Beats Electronics, Dr Dre can certainly afford Tom and Gisele’s 14,000-square-foot Brentwood estate complete with a moat.
The richest man in hip-hop is currently Sean “Puff Daddy Combs, whom Forbes Magazine says is worth $700 million. Jay Z is in third place with $520 million.
