HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Leonard Nimoy is recovering from a minor benign abdominal surgery, a procedure that forced him to cancel a Saturday appearance at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center at Long Beach State University.
The 79-year-old actor, who played Mr. Spock on the original Star Trek TV series, is said to be "recovering beautifully."
"An Evening with Leonard Nimoy" will likely be rescheduled for a later date, organizers said.
Nimoy currently has a recurring role on the Fox series Fringe.
