HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan’s career has suffered another blow.
The 24-year-old actress will no longer portray legendary adult star Linda Lovelace in an upcoming biopic on the ’70s porn scene called Inferno, the film’s director, Matthew Wilder, tells E! News.
"We are withdrawing our offer from Lindsay Lohan," said Wilder, who has previously stuck by Lohan throughout her legal woes.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Lohan will be replaced by Malin Akerman, whose previous film credits include 27 Dresses, Watchmen, The Heartbreak Kid, Couples Retreat and The Proposal.
So what caused Wilder to cut ties with Lohan, whose latest probation violation will keep her in rehab until at least Jan. 3?
"We have stuck by Lindsay very patiently for a long time with a lot of love and support," said Wilder. "Ultimately, the impossibility of insuring her—and some other issues—have made it impossible for us to go forward."
