HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Is John Edwards engaged to longtime mistress Rielle Hunter?
A source close to the former Presidential candidate is shooting down a National Enquirer report suggesting Edwards proposed to Hunter, just weeks after the death of his estranged wife, Elizabeth.
"John Edwards says the story is false," a source close to the former North Carolina senator told Politico Friday.
Edwards, 57, and Hunter, 46, are parents to daughter Frances Quinn, who turns 3 in February.
This isn’t the first time the Enquirer has reported the two were engaged. Last year, the tabloid said they planned to wed after purchasing a luxury beachfront home, but the report was quickly denied by Edwards.
