The actress has experimented with blonde ombré highlights (yes, like half of Hollywood) but there’s something about her color change that feels fresh to us. Plus, it’s a bold move for our Celeb Style Council member, who has had the same brunette shade for a long time.

Chung dyed some of her ends a honey blonde color for a very natural fade, eschewing the pastel hair trend other stars have been trying out in Hollywood right now. She shared a closer look at her highlights on Instagram, captioning the below shot “Morning hair. No bueno. Pass the coffee and brush please.”

The actress is planning her wedding to fiancé Bryan Greenberg’s, but told PEOPLE recently that their nuptials won’t take place until 2015. So there’s plenty of time to experiment with her hair between now and saying “I do.”
But a modern ombré look might work with the dress she had in mind — she recently told PEOPLE, “I think I want something more fitted and flowy. Not something very princess-y or mermaid-y.”
