While fireworks were dazzling the masses over the weekend, a couple stars were making some mega-watt fireworks of their own with super-bright new dos. Both Alyson Hannigan and Lance Bass debuted Day-Glo locks over the weekend, and we’re here to discuss.

First up: Hannigan, who is now free to experiment with her hair now that How I Met Your Mother has wound down. She first expressed herself with a big bob chop in March, and she’s taken it one step further with a super-bright red hue, which she debuted in L.A. this weekend.
She’s one of TV’s most famous redheads, but she tends to stay on the auburn side of the spectrum. Her new hue, however, is an eye-catchingly bright shade of scarlet, touched with strawberry-blonde highlights and shaped into a shorter, more graduated cut to really show it off.

Another star who went bold and bright: Lance Bass, who documented his progress from sandy blonde to “Brony” blue [Brony being a male fan of My Little Pony, as he illustrates here and here]. He even showed off a photo of his bleached-blonde state before the dye was applied, joking “#ThrowbackThursday! 1997 called, Lance- they want their hair back!”
After getting the full blue do, Bass shared more photos of him out and about, meeting Celine Dion and doing other normal day-to-day activities, just with “firework hair,” as he called it.
