HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Lindsay Lohan is maintaining her innocence after pleading not guilty Wednesday to felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace.
"i would never steal, in case people are wondering," the actress said Thursday on her Twitter page. "I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal."
Lohan, 24, also took offense to the media attention paid to the skin-tight white minidress she wore to her court hearing this week.
"what i wear to court shouldnt be front page news," she said. "it’s just absurd."
The starlet is accused of stealing the necklace from a Venice, Calif. jewelry store on Jan. 22. She is current free on $40,000 bail, with her next court appearance set for Feb. 23.
Lohan told her Twitter followers: "i just want to be on set again, and left alone to just work!"
