We hate to rock your world on a Friday (we much prefer to send you into the weekend with photos of pretty dresses and fun hair inspiration) but there’s a male hair change we must discuss. And it’s Channing Tatum‘s. And we think, after the initial shock, you’re going to like it.

Everyone’s favorite fictional male stripper stepped out in Vancouver this week sporting a newly shorn scalp. Well, actually, he first wore a backwards hat, which he obligingly doffed for the photographers waiting outside (and, according to said photographers, he informed them that “he shaved it down for the summer and that [wife] Jenna [Dewan-Tatum] loves it!”).

We think the new closely-cut do accentuates that “nicest, hottest lacrosse player in your high school” vibe he works so well, and it gives us flashbacks to his early and most glorious moments in Step Up (though thankfully, with slightly better-fitting clothes this time around). We’ll be perfectly honest, though: he could grow out half his hair and dye it blue and we still wouldn’t be too mad at it.
