Curvy Girl Chic’s Allison Teng Plays Stylist and Model for a Day – See Her Fun Behind-the-Scenes Photos!

Welcome Allison Teng, 26, of Curvy Girl Chic, who is joining us as our resident plus-size style blogger. She was featured in the March issue of PEOPLE StyleWatch and contributes each week to the site. This week, she’s sharing some behind-the-scenes shot from her recent adventure styling (and modeling!) Eloquii’s latest collection.

When Eloquii reached out to me a couple months ago about working with them, I was so psyched. If you’re not aware, the plus brand was re-launched earlier this year, and I absolutely love the new, edgier vibe they bring to the market. In addition to staples like jeans and tees, Eloquii now carries pieces with cool leather accents, studs, bold prints, and cutouts. They’re also embracing riskier silhouettes, like crop tops and short skirts! The pieces are on-trend but still made with the plus shopper in mind. Cutouts on dresses and tops are placed to allow for normal bra wear, and bold patterns (like the one on this dress) are designed to enhance curves, rather than overwhelm your figure. Needless to say, I didn’t think twice when they suggested collaborating on a photo shoot!

I got to fly out to NYC to have fun with their new summer arrivals, which are amazing. I spent the day playing dress up, getting professional hair and makeup done (can I please have this every day?!), and hit the streets of New York to “model” the looks I styled. It was such an incredible experience — even getting yelled at for standing in the middle of the sidewalk was kind of hilarious! (Sorry dude! Trying to model!)

The new collections are full of gorgeous prints, bright colors, and edgy details that aren’t always easy to find in plus size clothing. Just like any other girls, plus shoppers are usually looking for the hottest trends, too — not watered-down versions of them — and Eloquii. One of my fave pieces was the striped floral-print crop top. The print is so vibrant and I love that the shape is a bit boxy, which creates the illusion of an hourglass figure when paired with the flared skater skirt. It’s also just long enough to cover up if you’re still iffy on showing a ton of skin but want to try a cropped style. I can’t wait to rock it all summer!

I also loved all the embellished skirts, like this studded pencil skirt and this fun tribal-inspired number. They really amp up a 9-to-5 outfit and they look great on all body types! The best part about collaborating with Eloquii? Getting to work with the team behind the brand. Everyone was passionate about providing fashion that plus size women really want to wear. As a plus size girl on a perpetual hunt for gorgeous clothes, I really appreciate that!
