PORTLAND, Ore. — Tonya Harding is a new mom!
The former figure skater gave birth to a baby boy on Saturday in a Washington State hospital, her friend Don Horn tells the Oregonian.
"Everybody’s healthy and happy," said Horn. "She’s always wanted a baby. She was told she could never have a child … and guess what? It really is a miracle and she really is very happy."
This is the first child for Harding, 40, and her husband, Joseph Price, 42. The two married last summer.
A national figure skating champion in 1991 and a two-time Olympian, Harding was banned for life from the U.S. Figure Skating Association because of her role in a 1994 attack on fellow figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. Harding’s then-husband Jeff Gillooly helped plan the assault.
