NEW YORK — Longtime ABC executive Mark Pedowitz is the new president of television’s CW network.
Pedowitz joins the Los Angeles-based network as its entertainment president, Dawn Ostroff, quits because she’s relocating with her family to the East Coast. It’s an executive restructuring: Pedowitz will have authority over the entire network while previously Ostroff was teamed with an executive who ran the business side.
The CW is the sixth most popular broadcast network. Its primary target is women aged 18 to 34. Its most popular programs are "The Vampire Diaries," "America’s Next Top Model" and "Gossip Girls."
Pedowitz’s ABC jobs included running the network’s production studio. Ostroff is staying until the season ends next month.
