Miles Teller Says ‘Divergent’ Made Him Feel ‘Dead Inside’

Miles Teller, Divergent

Miles Teller didn’t have the best time making Divergent, according to Miles Teller.

The 27-year-old actor recently gave an interview to W magazine in which he says that his Divergent role made him feel, “dead inside.” Yikes! With much more filming to go on the series, we wonder how the cast and crew of Divergent feels about Miles’ comments?! Might make for an awkward press tour!

The first Divergent film was such a success when it premiered in March 2014. As a result, the cast immediately began working on the next film, Insurgent. That movie is slated to premiere on March 20, 2015. After that, the cast has to film Allegiant: Part 1 and Allegiant: Part 2!

Miles plays bad boy Peter in the films, though he’s not playing one of the two main characters of Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James), his role is still very important in the series.

In the interview with W, Miles talked about how Divergent made him feel. Miles told the magazine, “When I first read Whiplash, I was feeling dead inside. I didn’t have an interesting part [in Divergent], and I’d taken the film for business reasons: It was the first movie I’d done that was going to have an international audience. I called my agent and said, ‘This sucks.’ He told me about Whiplash.”

After the quotes from the interview began to surface, Miles’ rep released a statement to The Hollywood Reporter saying, “Accustomed to being more involved in the process of filmmaking, Miles regrets those words. He does value his relationship with Lionsgate and his participation in the franchise.”

Miles himself also tweeted about the quotes.
