Julia Roberts has been in the business for a long time. So it’s no surprise that this is her sixth cover for InStyle magazine. It also happens to be one of her most candid interviews… ever. The Oscar-winning actress opens up about everything from where she lands on the Hollywood hot scale to how she always identified with the “mom demographic” — way before she was a mom herself.

“I think I’ve always sort of been on the more boyish spectrum of girls,” she shares in the September issue, looking gorgeous in a belted Louis Vuitton dress teamed with soft waves and a pink lip. “For example, I’ve never been chosen as ‘one of the top-five hottest actresses in a bikini.’ And honestly, it’s a godsend. When I was younger, I’d think, “Oh, I’m the prettiest one. It’s not Halle Berry. It’s not!” But it is, you know?

Roberts, 46, also maintains that she’s always felt a connection with moms. “Even when I was 20, they were my demographic. I work for the moms.”

She adds that despite her high-profile celebrity status, she feels very similar to other working families out there. And the one question she never wants to be asked again? “How do you do it all?”

“Because, (a) I’m not nearly as busy as people think, (b) half of everything just doesn’t get done — as long as no one is in tears, nobody smells bad and everyone’s sleeping peacefully, I’ve done my job — and (c) I have a supportive group of girlfriends, a great husband and an understanding family. The rest gets done with grit, spit and a whole lot of duct tape.”
