Here’s How You Should Dress for a Date (According to Whitney Port)

Dressing for first dates can be tough. So Whitney Port and Joico decided to dedicate the latest installment of their “Drab to Fab” series to offering tips on what to wear that will totally get his attention without looking like you’re trying too hard.

In the video above, Port offers two styling choices for a more dressed-up date look and a more casual one. And of course Joico’s hairstylist Damien Carney gives his best mane moves to go along with each look.

For the first look, Port pairs a printed blouse and pencil skirt (same print, two different colors) from her collection with a bold statement necklace.

“It’s a really sophisticated silhouette so you’re not showing too much skin,” she shares. “You want to leave a bit of mystery when you’re going on a second date.”

What hair goes best with this outfit? Sleek straight strands with a middle part. And Port maintains it’s important not to overdo your look.

“I think less is more is always key,” she says. “You don’t want to let the look overpower you.”

Next, Port introduces the more casual date night look, which we have a feeling will be the more popular of the two. Consisting of what the designer calls, “the dressed up version of a T-shirt” because of the statement sleeves and sophisticated fabric, plus, a pair of “party shorts” (printed in the front and solid black in the back) the look feels trendy without being over-the-top flashy.

What do you think of the outfits? Which would you wear on a date? Share your thoughts below.
