Jennifer Lawrence Also Shops at Ikea, Has Nightmares About Leaving Her House

Jennifer Lawrence may be the youngest three-time Oscar nominee in Hollywood history (and Dior’s gorgeous spokesperson), but that doesn’t mean she buys ridiculously expensive high-end furniture.

Currently promoting the latest Hunger Games film, Mockingjay – Part I with fellow stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, Lawrence spoke to the Telegraph about the anxiety she has of constantly being surrounded by paparazzi (which is just terrible), and her new Ikea couch.

A Kentucky native, Jennifer explained that she moved to LA when she was 14, and she’s still adjusting to the lifestyle that comes with being a big name, Oscar winning actress.

“There are wonderful, wonderful things that come with the job but there are difficulties that come with it too,” she says. “I have perspective because I didn’t grow up in this business. I’m not from Hollywood, I’m from Kentucky. I didn’t become successful until a few years ago and I’m very aware of what the real world is and how much a couch costs.”

Because of how outrageously expensive LA prices are, when Lawrence recently furnished her new home, she bought her couch from Ikea! “It doesn’t matter how much money I make,” she said, “Unfairness in prices really fires me up. Like shopping in L.A and a tee-shirt costs $150.”

Who doesn’t love Ikea?!

Known to be bombarded by fans and paparazzi alike, J-Law often finds it hard to even step out to the store. The actress said, “A lot of anxiety comes from something as simple as me going to the grocery store because I don’t know what could happen and I have nightmares all the time that I’m walking through a shopping mall and suddenly people start surrounding me and there’s nowhere I can go. So sometimes it’s easier to call one of my friends and ask them to pick up some bananas for me because I don’t want to go to the grocery store and have an event.”

She added, “But it’s important to stay grounded, so I don’t know. I’m figuring it out. Or trying to.”

The 24-year-old really looks at acting just like any other job, saying (about publicity), “I don’t really absorb any of that stuff because I don’t think it would be good for me. I love acting so I just show up for work and I film movies and I have to promote them and then I go home. And that’s about it.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part I will be released in three days, on November 20th!
